Tomah Health Information Systems director LaVonne Smith has been named one of the top 100 community hospital chief information officers (CIOs) to know in the U.S. for 2017 by Becker’s Hospital Review, an industry leading print publication.
A release from Becker’s said CIOs on the list all lead health information technology (IT) teams that have implemented electronic health records (HER) systems, lead cybersecurity initiatives and managed telehealth / telemedicine programs.
“While LaVonne would be the first to say that the acknowledgment is the result of a team effort, this recognition is really a testament to the dedication and commitment that she delivers every day at Tomah Health,” said hospital marketing & public relations director Eric Prise.
Becker’s release also said that CIOs included on the top 100 list are at the helm of organizations that have been recognized nationally for their quality care and patient satisfaction.
Last month, Tomah Health was named for the second consecutive year as a “most wired” facility by Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN) for using technology to provide access to care.
In July, Becker’s also recognized Tomah Health as one of 62 critical access hospitals to know in the country.
Becker’s Hospital Review is a monthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.
