Clinical Nurse Specialist Recognition Week, celebrated annually from September 1–7, is when hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide honor the nearly 90,000 clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) and their crucial contributions to healthcare. CNSs diagnose, prescribe, and treat patients and specialty populations nationwide. They improve outcomes by providing direct patient care, leading evidence-based practice, optimizing organizational systems, and advancing nursing practice.
