Helping the Hungry

Tomah Neighbor for Neighbor Food Pantry executive director Geena Skowronski, left, accepted a $2,400 check from Tomah Health nurse tech Anne Peterson, center and registered nurse Kayla Gilman, RN, recently. Hospital employees, providers and board members had the opportunity to accept a turkey or ham from the hospital as a holiday gift or donate the value of the item to the food pantry.

Hospital marketing & public relations director Eric Prise said staff has been given the opportunity to make the donation the last six years donating more than $14,000 during those years. Skowronski said the donation will help to purchase food for the just under 500 families that the facility serves each month. “The check from the hospital will go a long way in helping us provide service for people who need it most,” said Skowronski.

The local food pantry is located at 1118 West Veterans St., Tomah.
