A month-long collection drive will help parents and newborns at Tomah Health. Staff from Maximus Aesthetics & Wellness of Tomah donated several thousands of dollars’ worth of baby diapers and supplies to the Tomah Health Women’s Health department Jan. 2.
Maximus owner Katie Treichel said the items were donated by business clients during the drive which began just before Thanksgiving. “We decided to do this rather than a traditional giving tree just to do something different,” said Treichel. “I had my baby here in April and had a really great experience and it inspired me to want to do more to give back to families in need.”
Treichel thanked the clients of her medical spa at 1408 Superior Ave., for donating the items. “I hope that it means a lot and takes some stress off of parents because baby items are definitely not cheap.”
Tomah Health Women’s Health Director Tammie Schroeder greatly appreciated the donation which will help families who deliver their baby at the hospital. “It was great that they had thought about Women’s Health and the families we care for here at Tomah Health,” said Schroeder. “I was absolutely amazed at the number of donated items by their team and clients. This will allow us to assist a number of the families that come through our department.”
