Tomah Health marketing director Eric Prise is among a group of health care professionals in Wisconsin recognized for making a significant contribution to rural health and the local community.
Prise received the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative’s (RWHC) Rural Health Ambassador Award during a ceremony at Tomah Health May 14 as part of the hospital’s recognition of National Hospital Week.
“It’s a nice way, especially as it coincides with hospital week, to get out and really appreciate those who have gone above and beyond to support their community and rural health,” said Jeremy Levin, Director of Advocacy for the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, who presented the award. “Often you see health care employees doing a lot and I think that is even more so indicative of rural health care employees.” He said about 20 people across the state will receive the cooperative’s award this year.
Prise has been employed at Tomah Health for 18 years and is responsible for directing all marketing and promotion of the hospital. “It was so much fun to get a surprise in this year for the guy holding the microphone; he’s well deserved and has served the Tomah community and Tomah Health for a number of years,” added Levin.
In addition to his role at Tomah Health, Prise is a member of the Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society (WHPRMS) and the Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD) of the American Hospital Association. He sits on the Tomah Planning Commission and Tomah Long Range Committee and is also a member of the Tomah Rotary Club.
